Gran Canaria striker Yéremi Pino Santos, who turns 16 on Saturday, will take part in the qualifying campaign for the European Under-17 Championship next year in Macedonia.
Yéremi is currently playing at El Roda, a subsidiary of Villarreal, a club he came to two seasons ago from the UD Las Palmas. He is a junior and competes in the Youth Honor Division team and to date has scored three goals in the Levantine group.
The coach David Gordo again has the Canary attacker, who performs well in the half point and center forward. Yéremi, scorer thanks to his physical strength and technical quality, was Villarreal's top scorer last season in the Preferente cadet, with 22 goals, and the second top scorer in the category.
Yéremi Pino was a U-16 international and he played with the Spanish national team in two tournaments, in England and in Japan. Now, with the U-17 has participated in friendlies against Russia and France, so the appointment in Macedonia will be his international debut in official match.
The tournament is qualifying and Spain will face the hosts on day 20 in the training center of the Federation (13.30), Faroe Islands in the same scenario on 23 (10.00) and Israel on 26 (13.30).
The first two of each group and the four best third will access the elite round, for which England and Germany were directly qualified. The final phase will take place in Ireland in 2019, which will be accessed by the eight winners of the elite round groups plus the seven best seconds and the host team.
