Yaiza Castilla will not appear in the next elections to "face personal challenges"

The secretary of the Board of Directors of Agrupación Socialista Gomera (ASG), Yaiza Castilla Herreracommunicated this Monday to the party's general secretary, Casimiro Curbelo, his intention not to stand in the next elections local and regional events that will be held next May. The also Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce of the Government of the Canary Islands has adopted this decision "after a deep process of personal reflection."

Castilla Herrera has also transferred its decision to the president of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, to whom it has communicated its intention to end the current legislature “in coherence with the commitment that I acquired when I took office”.

«Once the legislature ends, I will face new personal and professional challenges»says Castilla Herrera. «I thank my political party, ASG, with special mention to Casimiro Curbelo, and all his affiliates and supporters for giving me the opportunity to manage three areas of vital importance for the economy of the Canary Islands«, points out Castilla Herrera.

Yaiza Castilla Herrera (San Sebastián de La Gomera, July 5, 1984) has a degree in Law from the University of La Laguna. She was a senator for La Gomera representing ASG, from December 2015 to July 2019. In July 2019 she took office as Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce of the Government of the Canary Islands.
