Ximo Puig announces the closure of the Valencian Community for a week
The president of the Valencian Government, Ximo Puig, announced this Thursday the perimeter closure of the Valencian Community as a measure to stop the spread of the pandemic in recent weeks and in view of the next bridges that are coming. Valencian autonomy thus becomes the eleventh that closes its borders.
Puig has reported this new restriction after meeting with the Minister of Health, Ana Barceló, to analyze the evolution of the coronavirus in Valencian territory.
The Valencian Community has added 1,529 new cases of coronavirus confirmed by PCR and 14 deaths in the last 24 hours -one of them a user of a residence for the elderly-, according to the updated data provided this Thursday by the Ministry of Health.
Although Valencian healthcare is a leader in trackers -1,619- and in detection of outbreaks -1,718 since June, 17% of the total of those that have been uncovered in Spain-, and that it is at the tail in infections per inhabitant -218.40 per 100,000 inhabitants in the last two weeks-, only behind the Canary Islands and the Balearic Islands, There are already a multitude of Valencian towns that exceed that incidence of a thousand cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
