Xiaomi achieves a profit of 818 million euros in the first semester, 29.25% more




Chinese technology Xiaomi, one of the largest mobile phone manufacturers in the world and the first in Spain, has obtained a profit attributed to the parent company of 6,661 million yuan (818 million euros) during the first half of the yearyear, 29.25% more than a year before.

As detailed today by the Chinese manufacturer, which also makes other electronic products and applications, has entered during the first six months of the year 103,239 million yuan (12,677 million euros), 7.87% more than in the same period of the previous year.

The firm has registered a strong boost in the second quarter of the year, when the profit attributed to the parent company was 4,498 million yuan (552 million euros), more than double (129.8% more) than in the same period of the previous year.

However, the turnover of the company, which has just turned ten years old, it has only grown 3.05%, to stand at 53,538 million yuan (6,574 million euros) igraduates in the second trimester. 44.9% was obtained outside of China and 59.1% from the sale of mobile phones (61.6% throughout the semester).

Leader in Spain

According to data from the consulting firm Canalys cited by the Chinese manufacturer, in the second quarter of 2020, lXiaomi’s mobile shipments to the European market have shot up 64.9% year-on-year to rank among the top three largest manufacturers by market share for the first time.

Also, maintained its leadership in Spain for the second consecutive quarter and reached the second position in France, according to the company itself, which in the second quarter of the year was the fourth world manufacturer, behind Samsung, Huawei and Apple, with a market share of between 10.1% (according to Canalys) and 8.9% (according to Gartner).

Only in Spain its sales have increased 150.6% between the second quarter of 2019 and 2020, which already has a market share of 36.8% in this country
