New York film director Woody Allen will shoot a film produced by Mediapro, for which he is already looking for locations in San Sebastian, sources from the film industry and film sector in the capital of Guipúzcoa have confirmed. Two members of the Mediapro team have traveled to the capital of San Sebastian this week to study the possibility of San Sebastián becoming one of the stages of their new work, of which the title and the cast are not known.

The members of the production company will hold a meeting next Friday with the San Sebastian-Gipuzkoa Film Commission to "see the possibilities of filming the film in San Sebastian and Gipuzkoa", confirmed the deputy mayor of San Sebastian, Ernesto Gasco. . The producer has requested the meeting to know the "general conditions" that San Sebastian offers for the filming, because "they are studying the possibility" that the capital of San Sebastian is one of the scenes of the film.

Gasco stressed that "for San Sebastian it is always interesting" to host this type of initiative because it is "supporting the creative industrial sector", which is "very important", as well as for the "international projection that the city can have". The possibility of Allen filming his new film in Spain was advanced in September by Mediapro's founding partner, Jaume Roures, who explained that he was negotiating with the New York filmmaker to return to a new project in our country, specifically in Barcelona .

Roures said then that the US director had not yet begun to write the script for this film, although he already had "an outline" of it. In the Catalan capital Allen rolled Vicky, Cristina, Barcelona, premiered in 2008 and for which Penélope Cruz won the Oscar for best supporting actress.

Allen will start this new project without having released his latest film A Rainy Day in New York, starring Timothée Chalamet, Selena Gomez, Elle Fanning and Jude Law, paralyzed by Amazon, which produced it, after the controversy was rekindled by the accusation of sexual abuse made 25 years ago by his daughter, Dyla Farrow.

Recently it had been announced the presence of Woody Allen in Spain, since it will offer three concerts as a clarinetist accompanied by the Eddy Davis New Orleans Jazz Band between June 16 and 20 in Bilbao, Barcelona and Madrid.
