Winner of stage 4 of the 2020 Giro d’Italia: Arnaud Demare

The French Arnaud demare (Groupama) won this Tuesday the sprint ahead of the Slovak Peter sagan (Bora) the fourth stage of Italy spin, over a 140-kilometer route between Catania and Villafranca Tirrena, in which the Portuguese Joao Almeida (Deceunick Quick Step) kept the pink jersey.

Demare beat Sagan and the Italian by centimeters Davide ballerini (Deceunick Quick Step) on an intense sprint and finished the stage in 3 hours, 22 minutes and 13 seconds.

Joao Almeida kept the pink jersey of the general leader ahead of the Ecuadorian Jonathan Caicedo (Education First), on a day when one of the great favorites, the British Geraint Thomas (Ineos), announced his retirement.
