Why is the fire that devastates the province of Castellón of the sixth generation?

The fire that broke out in Castellón last Thursday and that to date has calcined more than 4,000 hectares is considered to be of the sixth generation, a very virulent type clearly linked to climate change, one of those that modify the weather conditions in the affected area and cause storms of fire, becoming a very serious threat to the environment and to people.

These are new fires that are currently taking place, but not in previous decades, as a consequence of climate change, which in most cases exceeds the existing material and human resources to combat them.

In the case of Sierra Bermeja, the flames have caused the formation of pyrocumulus clouds, clouds of smoke that can contain fire particles and that are usually produced vertically, but on this occasion they expand horizontally.

These clouds are caused by the intense heating of the air from the surface. The rise in temperature generates convective movements that lift the air mass to a point of stability, usually in the presence of humidity.
