Despite the threat of the president of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Quim Torra, to stop supporting the government of Pedro Sánchez if he does not initiate a "political dialogue on self-determination" before this November, the reality is that both administrations continue holding meetings bilateral to collaborate in the resolution of issues such as housing.

This Tuesday, just a few hours before Torra launched its notice of rupture, the Government Delegation in Catalonia held the meeting of the Bilateral Monitoring Commission of the agreement for the implementation of the State Housing Plan 2018-2021, which entails 272 million euros for this autonomous community, of which 20.92 have already been advanced.

In addition, issues such as the housing park for rent with limited rent, for tenants with limited resources and housing solutions for women victims of gender violence have been addressed.

On the part of the Generalitat, the Secretary of Urban Habitat and Territory of the Department of Territory and Sustainability of the Generalitat, Agustí Serra, participated in the meeting; the director of the Housing Agency of Catalonia, Judith Font; the general deputy director of Coordination and Monitoring of Housing Programs, Jaume Cleries, and the deputy general director of Architecture, Josep Casas.

While on the part of the central government have been in the meeting the general secretary of Housing of the Ministry of Development, Helena Beunza, the general director of Architecture, Housing and Land, Francisco Javier Martin, and the deputy director general of Policy and Housing Aid , Anselmo Menéndez.

Given the criticism in the Parliament that only dedicates its management to independence, Torra has taken out the government plan presented last week to remember that the acceleration of some investments in specific social policies, such as the educational, health, housing or of social protection.

"This government of republican mandate governs from the first day, because the country has to lift the blind every day," he said. However, the president has not mentioned the bilateral meetings in which the injection of state investments for these policies has been agreed.

The Ministry of Development signed on July 30, 2018 the Agreement with the Autonomous Community of Catalonia for the implementation of the State Housing Plan 2018-2021. In this agreement the Ministry is committed to contribute 209.23 million euros and the Generalitat to co-finance the Plan with 62.77 million. In total, 272 million euros are allocated to aid for the various programs of the State Housing Plan 2018-2021 in Catalonia.

Based on the provisions of said agreement, the Ministry of Development has ordered the advancement of the transfer to Catalonia of 20.92 million.
