Adecco experts remember that for years IT professionals have been the hardest to find In our country. Likewise, they point to health personnel and emphasize that with the outbreak of the health crisis they are more in demand than ever at any level. Auxiliaries, nurses, doctors and laboratory technicians are lacking.

Technical profiles or FP degrees linked to industry and construction are also in demand, such as electromechanics, forklift operators, welders, trades, formworkers, ironworkers, masons, operators for the food sector and quality and maintenance technicians.

On the other hand, qualified workers associated with the development of the services sector are sought, such as sales and administrative staff with languages, telemarketers, hotel staff and engineers. .

In Adecco they explain that behind this lack there are several reasons that explain the situation and that they have different origins and scope of action. For example, there is a shortage of qualified and well-trained professionals in certain fields such as in the case of professionals with vocational training studies. "VET is in high demand, well above existing supply and is already more in demand in job offers than university degrees," they indicate from Adecco.

Another reason for this shortage of talent lies in the fact that technological profiles are constantly changing and, furthermore, there are not enough graduates to cover market demand. Changing shifts for certain positions are also heavily penalized. On the other hand, more and more importance is given to mastering languages ​​and in many offers the knowledge of a third language is requested.

On the other hand, Adecco experts argue that companies do not find the profiles they are looking for due to the need to have highly specialized candidates or because they offer uncompetitive salaries. They also list reasons such as the lack of generational change in sectors such as agriculture or construction, which have failed to present themselves as attractive enough for the new generations.

Differences by communities

Although there are professions with a high demand in the homogeneous way in our country as it is the case of health workers, workers in the IT sector, maintenance technicians, hotel staff, industrial operators, farmers or food handlers; there are also autonomies with their own characteristics in demand and contracting that differentiate them from the rest.

Is the case of Galicia, where one of the most demanded profiles is that of a longshoreman or that of Aragon, where there is a high demand for both industrial and agricultural workers. The same happens with the Canary Islands, where handling personnel in the airport sector or drivers are among the most in demand.

In The Valencian Community highlights the demand for technological, quality technical or commercial profiles with languages. In the Balearic Islands, the specialists in customer experience or the administrative staff with languages ​​stand out; while in the Community of Madrid the occupational risk prevention technicians stand out and in Cantabria the administrative staff with languages.

In La Rioja the most requested are the drivers and carriers; while in Asturias the telemarketers stand out and in Castilla y León, the quality technicians.

In the Region of Murcia, the Basque Country, Navarra and the Valencian Community, engineers are in demand above all; while the welder profile is highly demanded in Aragon, Castilla La Mancha, Extremadura and the Basque Country.
