Whatsappcontinues working on the development of the unlocking function through fingerprint authentication, for which the company has developed a new interface that will allow to configure the automatic blocking time inone, ten or thirty minutes, or immediately.
Last January, it was already announced that WhatsApp was working on a fingerprint recognition mechanism to access the application inAndroid. Now, the WABetaInfo website reports that this feature is already being tested in beta version 2.19.82.
In the tests WhatsApp has done in its beta it shows that this function can be activated by going to 'Whastapp settings', accessing'Account'where you will be among the options on the' tab 'Privacy'
Once the option 'Use fingerprint to unlock' is activated, WhatsApp asks to enter the fingertip to identify it, after which it will be necessary to select the time after which the application is blocked again after having entered the fingerprint once.
WhatsApp offersfour possible locking configurations: immediately, so that WhatsAppforeverrequires the fingerprint, orafter one, ten or thirty minutes.
In the case that WhatsApp does not recognize the fingerprint after trying it several times, a notification appears in which it informs of the error warning the user to try again later.
WABetaInfo ensures that this new feature is already being tested in beta 2.19.82, which includes a dark mode, although at the moment it is not operational even for users of the Android app beta.
