Apple has launched the new version of the operating system of its iPhone mobiles, iOS 14.2, which has incorporated several novelties such as new inclusive emoji designs and distance detector through the camera and the LiDAR sensor of the iPhone 12 Pro Max.
iOS 14.2 is the latest update to the iPhone operating system, and it renews with minor changes to iOS 14, released in September together with the new iPad Air, with new features such as ‘widgets’ and a redesign of the system.
Now, with iOS 14.2, the new distance detector function is extended among users of the new iPhone 12 Pro Max, which uses the camera’s LiDAR sensor to determine how far a person is using Apple’s native Magnifier app.
The new version of the operating system also incorporates new features in the list of available emojis, and introduces 100 new designs, including animals -such as black cats, buffaloes and seals-, foods -bubble tea, olives …- and new emojis with gender inclusive like men in wedding dresses and women in groom suits.
Another novelty focuses on the integration of the Shazam music detection application, owned by the company, which can now be used directly from the control center and through native operating system shortcuts.
As Apple’s support page has reported, iOS 14.2 fixes some system bugs too, with 15 patches for Photos app issues, wireless charging or GPS, among others.
Likewise, Apple has also distributed updates to its other operating systems: iPadOS 14.2 for its tablets, watchOS 7.1 for your smart watches, tvOS 14.2 for your television devices and macOS Catalina 10.15.7 for computers.
