Weather in Spain, cold weather returns: 36 provinces on alert

Some thirty provinces will be this Monday, January 28, in warning of risk and / or significant risk of snowfall, wind, coastal phenomena and avalanches, according to the prediction of the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET).

Specifically, the wind will affect 30 provinces: Teruel, Zaragoza, Cantabria, Albacete, Ávila, Burgos, León, Palencia, Segovia, Soria, Zamora, Barcelona, ​​Tarragona, Melilla, Madrid, Castellón, Valencia, Alicante, Ibiza and Formentera, Mallorca, La Rioja, Álava, Vizcaya, Guipúzcoa, Asturias and Murcia (yellow warning); and Hueca, Girona, Lleida and Navarra (orange warning).

Likewise, León and Girona will be in yellow warning for risk of snowfall, while in orange warning for important risk will be Huesca and Lleida.

Almeria, Granada, Murcia, Asturias, Melilla, A Coruña, Lugo, Pontevedra, Ibiza and Formentera, Mallorca and Menorca will have warnings for wave risk; and Cantabria, Girona, Tarragona, Vizcaya, Guipúzcoa will have notices for significant risk. Finally, Huesca, Navarra and Lleida will be on notice due to the risk of avalanches.

During the day, Cloudy skies or covered with precipitation are expected in the north of the peninsula, which could be locally strong or persistent, and be accompanied by storm, in the eastern Cantabric and Pyrenees, tending to remit in Galicia.

With less probability and intensity, precipitation is also possible in the Central and Iberian systems and nearby areas. In the east of the Balearic Islands and north of the Canary Islands of more relief, it is likely that occasional rainfall will form.

In the rest of the Mediterranean area, Andalusia and southern Canary Islands will be little cloudy, while in the rest of the Peninsula there will be cloudy intervals.

The level of snow will oscillate between 1,200 and 1,600 meters, down to 900 and 1,200 in the northwest; in the north center it will be between 700 and 1,400 meters; in the Pyrenees of 500 and 800 rising to 700 and 1,000 meters; in the Western Iberian 700 and 1,000 rising to 1,000 and 1,200 meters; in the eastern Iberian it will be between 700 and 800 rising to 1,000 and 1,600; and in the Central system between 1,400 and 1,600 meters.

With regard to temperatures, lThe diurnal will experience a descent in the Pyrenees and southern Andalusia, and will rise in the North plateau.

The cold will cause weak frosts on both plateaus and, being more intense, in mountain areas, which will be locally strong in the Pyrenees.

Finally, northwesterly winds will blow in the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, with strong intensity in the extreme north, eastern half of the peninsula and in the Balearic Islands, with very strong gusts in the eastern Cantabrian, mountain areas, under the Ebro, Ampurdán and Baleares. It will be of west with intervals of strong in Strait and Alborán; and trade winds in the Canary Islands.
