Vodafone Spain has informed the workers' representatives the opening of a collective dismissal procedure, which will affect a maximum of 1,200 employees, as reported by the company today in a statement.
The telecommunications operator has summoned the unions to start the consultation period at the end of January, which is expected to last a month and in which they hope to achieve "the best possible agreement for both employees and the company."
Since Vodafonde Spain have justified this measure in reasoneconomic, productive and organizational concrete in falls of income and Ebitda during the first semester of this year. In particular, they have recognized the need to "reverse the negative evolution of the business", as well as to "reinforce its sustainability", protect its investment capacity and "design a more competitive organization" to adapt it to the new needs of customers.
A context in which, they have assured from the operator, customers ask «An agile, simple and immediate relationship» and so they have opted for a simpler and more coordinated organizational model.
