Vargas Llosa, elected member of the French Academy of the language



The Hispanic-Peruvian writer Mario Vargas Llosa he was elected this Thursday a new member of the French Academy in the chair he occupied Michel Serres, the institution indicated.

The 85-year-old Nobel Prize for Literature in 2010 received 18 votes from the Academy’s 22 voting members, one from Fr√©deric Vignale, one blank, and two abstentions.

In this way, Vargas Llosa becomes “immortal”, name by which the members of this institution are known, founded in 1635 by Cardinal Richelieu to ensure the French language.
