Vaccines work against Delta variant of coronavirus from India
More contagious, but sensitive to licensed vaccines. The Delta variant of SARS-CoV-2, from India and predominant in the United Kingdom, is already in Spain and has generated concern. The first to sound the alarm was the Community of Madrid, which last Friday reported 22 cases and proposed to bring forward the second doses of AstraZeneca by one week for the population between 60 and 69 years old. The Deputy Minister of Health, Antonio Zapatero, calculated that India will become the dominant strain in six weeks and again pointed to the Barajas airport as a strainer in the region.
