Six months ago vaccination against COVID-19 began in Spain and throughout the European Union (EU). It did so sooner than some expected, thanks to the accelerated development of vaccines. It’s been half a year since a clumsy start, with just 300,000 doses (then only from Pfizer / BioNTech) arriving a week, a lot of inequality between communities (Some, despite the forecasts, were caught with bad planning) and focused only on vaccinating the most urgent, which were the health, large dependents and users and workers of nursing homes. Now, at the beginning of July, we received 6 million doses in 7 days from four companies, and more than 50% of Spaniards have a dose. Along the way there have been stumbles and mistakes, but health workers and scientists agree that the campaign can already be described as a success. The Ministry has also celebrated this week the process that they coordinate but that the autonomous communities carry out.
