USO asks for paid leave to take care of children without classes

USO has requested on Tuesday that the care of children in the Community of Madrid and Alava, whose schools have closed during the next 15 days due to the crisis of the coronavirus, be considered as a remuneration permit.

In a statement, the union has ensured that it “deeply” respects the preventive actions of health authorities, but has called for a solution for parents who cannot telework, while considering that care by grandparents “would produce an opposite effect to the measure “.

Likewise, it has requested that the quarantine casualties be considered a professional illness, especially in the case of health workers, and that a “clear and unified prevention protocol” be established, which avoids situations such as the collapse of the citizen assistance telephone , which can cause “a feeling of psychosis that does not benefit anyone.
