The academic activity in this university will be resumed, in principle, tomorrow, Thursday, at 9.30. However, the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) does remain open, although it recommends its teachers not to take exams or scoring activities. Before the call, the UB has decided to maintain the programming of academic activities, but has asked the faculty to defer all the evaluable activities and that do not require mandatory assistance to guarantee the right to strike, as well as has demanded the conveners to respect the right to education for those who want to attend class.

The university professors ask for an improvement of the conditions of the associated teaching staff -with the opening of a negotiation table-, implementation of promotion and stabilization plans for researchers and a rethinking of the parameters that guide the accreditations.

For their part, faculty assemblies have also joined the strike to claim the 30% reduction of university fees and they have also supported the demands of the teaching staff, and the Sindicat d'Estudiants dels Països Catalans (SEPC) has convened a two-day strike. A spokeswoman explained that activities are planned for unemployment on Wednesday at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) and on the campuses of Barcelona (UB) and Pompeu Fabra (UPF).

The Consell de l'Estudiant de les Universitats Catalanes (Ceucat) has urged the Deanship and Rectorship teams of public universities to suspend evaluable activities and compulsory attendance during the strike called by student unions and university staff of these two days.

This strike on Wednesday is the prelude to the strike called for Thursday in public education, convened by Ustec-Stes, Aspepc-Sps and CGT, to which the student unions and university professors have joined. The day of Thursday will be chaired by a demonstration at noon that will depart from the Plaza Universitat de Barcelona, as well as in other Catalan capitals.
