This November maintains its traditional negative balance: the average number of affiliates fell by 53,114 people, while the unemployed registered in the offices of unemployment increased by 20,525. Job seekers are in 3,198,184 people, which means, according to data published Tuesday by the Ministry of Labor, Migration and Social Security, the lowest figure in a month of November since 2008. The level of affiliates falls to 19.38 million.
The increase in employment in education and commerce does not compensate for the drop in hospitality
Meanwhile, the decline in employment is the most marked in this month since 2013. The creation of jobs in education (26,700) and commerce (15,200) – influenced in principle by the sales campaign of the Black friday– they have not been able to compensate for the destruction of employment in the hospitality industry (105,048). In any case, if the calendar effect is discounted, there are 30,600 members more than in October.
The increase in registered unemployment significantly worsens the data of the previous year, when those registered as job seekers not only did not increase but also decreased by 1,836 people. Unemployment was reduced only in the Valencian Community, Madrid, Euskadi and Castilla-La Mancha.
