Unemployment in Japan rose to 2.6% in April

Japan’s unemployment rate rose one tenth to 2.6% in April, the month the country decreed the state of health alert for the coronavirus and limited commercial activities, according to government data released on Friday.

The number of unemployed in the third world economy in the fourth month of 2020 was 1.89 million, an increase of 130,000 people or 7.4% compared to the same month of 2019, according to data from the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare.

The number of people with jobs in Japan arrived in April was 66.28 million, a decrease of 800,000 or 1.2% year-on-year.

In addition, the number of jobs available per 100 job seekers in Japan was 132 in April, a decrease from the 139 the previous month.
