Unemployment falls by 63,805 people, the lowest cut in a June since 2009


The number of unemployed registered in the offices of the Public State Employment Service (SEPE) was reduced by 63,805 people during June, marking the lowest cut in that month since 2009.

According to the data published on Tuesday by the Ministry of Labor, Migration and Social Security, the total number of unemployed stood at 3,015,686, the lowest figure since November 2008, after 146,476 people left the unemployment lists. the last year (with a reduction rate of 4.63%).

By sectors of origin of the unemployed, the greatest output of unemployment was recorded in the services (51,452 unemployed less), followed by the group that had not worked before (7,994), agriculture (5,815), industry (5,808) and construction (4,066).

In seasonally adjusted terms, that is, without taking into account seasonal and calendar differences, unemployment increased in June to 8,986 people.

Of the 63,805 unemployed less than June, 32,756 were men and 31,049, women, which cut male unemployment to 1.21 million people and female unemployment to 1.79 million.

By age, the unemployment of young people under 25 was reduced by 15,970 people.

Among foreigners, unemployment decreased by 6,505 people, to 366,805, of whom 131,852 came from a community country.

Unemployment was reduced in all regions, but mainly in Catalonia (13,819), followed by Castilla y León (7,169) and Madrid (6,523).

The total number of contracts registered during June was 2,009,011 (66,730 less than in May), of which more than 91% were temporary.
