The union UGT considers "fair and necessary" both the tax on financial transactions and the technological rate, taxes both approved this Friday by the Council of Ministers.
In his opinion, both help to guarantee a fair, solid and balanced welfare state, attend trade union demands on an international level and go in line with what is being promoted in Europe.
However, UGT insists that a "much more comprehensive, fair and equitable" tax reform is still necessary, since Spain collects 7 percentage points of GDP less than the European Union average (37.9% against 44.8%). %).
This reform must also be more inclusive and involve greater effort in the fight against tax fraud, limit exemptions and bonuses and strengthen the welfare state.
