Daniel López, one of the most prestigious astrophotographers in Europe, who collaborates in La Palma and Tenerife with the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (IAC), has captured in one of his timelapses over the night sky one of the great concerns of the astronomical world.
Reviewing the “timelapse” that he posts on the blog elcielodecanarias.com, found that several of the Space X satellites had sneaked into their videos. These are accelerated photo sequences, in which the SmartLink appear in the sky as shots from a laser cannon or UFOs.
Astronomers around the world are alarmed by the contamination of Space X satellites. These objects are part of the Starlink network and leave intense trails that obstruct space observations from Earth. “I don’t even want to imagine what the sky is going to become when you aim with the telescope and only see streaks moving,” said the asphyrophotographer.
