UD Lanzarote withdraws its women’s team and subsidiary – La Provincia


The directive of the UD Lanzarote has decided withdraw for the next season 2020/2021 its women’s team from the Preferent Territorial and its subsidiary from the Primera Regional de Lanzarote Due to the uncertainty that he coronavirus has awakened about the continuity of both competitions next year, as announced this Friday by the rojillo club.

“The latest events regarding Covid-19 cause the uncertainty in our society to be maximum at this time. An uncertainty that is transferred to the sporting level and without knowing for sure how the competitions will develop in the different federated categories,” he has explained the whole Lanzarote in a statement.

While the main idea of ​​the club was keep the two teams in competition, this will not be possible “due to the lack of financial support and due to the uncertainty that exists at the moment, “he specified. For this reason, he will not confirm either of the two teams for the next season, a deadline that was closed this Monday, August 17.
