Two agents of the Civil Guard of Zaragoza rescue a dog that was going to drown

The Civil Guard of Zaragoza has managed to rescue a dog about to drown. The events occurred last Thursday. The owner of an irrigation raft, located in the municipality of Épila, reported the presence of two dogs that were trapped inside the water and could not get out on their own.

After the arrival of a local citizen security patrol, they observed two dogs in the water, one of them already deceased, and the second with symptoms of fatigue trying to get out of the raft. An attempt was made to rescue the animal using a system of safety ropes that the raft itself had, but it was impossible due to the slope of the slope, about five meters high, and the poor adherence of the insulating material of said water tank.

Given the situation the dog was in and the risk his life was running, he sank at various times, one of the agents took off his uniform and entered the water to proceed to his rescue. After swimming to the place where the animal was, he held it and moved to the shore, where the other component of the patrol was waiting. They proceeded to extract him from the raft and put him to safety.

The agents fed and hydrated the dog, showing symptoms of hypothermiaand they transferred him to the barracks. She did not have a microchip and was a female crossbreed Pointer, weighing almost 30kg. Faced with this situation, they contacted the Épila City Council, which provided a place set up for her care until he was picked up by Animal Protection Entities.
