The classic word is one of those groped in pop history. Classic can be an album that made history, which stood the test of time, a reference in its time and for later generations. But classic, since pop was discharged from the obligation of constant progress back in the 1990s, it has also become a euphemism to say retro. Classic is a new album that sounds old. There are also instant classics, which is the way we talk about concrete records that play specific keys at specific times. Everything in them works, at least, when they appear. And finally, there is the disc with a vocation of classic, which is none other than the one that rushes with all the ambition to transcend. It is the result of a dangerous funambulismo work to travel through the past without harming itself, until arriving at the present with sufficient strength and lucidity to propel itself into the future.
