Turkey sends to Spain a plane with medical supplies for the Covid-19

The Turkish government sent a military cargo plane with medical supplies on Wednesday to help health personnel from Spain and Italy in managing the coronavirus crisis.

The aid package consists of masks, glasses and protective suits for health personnel and disinfecting gels, according to the official Anadolu agency.

The aircraft left Ankara this morning for Spain and from there to Italy to donate the material.

The Turkish Executive has distributed images to the means of transporting medical supplies to the cargo plane, with messages of support for Spain.

"There is so much hope after despair. There are so many suns after darkness," "From Turkey to the Spanish people, affectionately," indicates a poster in Turkish and Spanish with the flags of both countries.

In Turkey there have been 13,551 cases of coronavirus and 214 deaths.

The Turkish government has closed leisure venues and recently restricted mobility between provinces to reduce infections and has encouraged the population to voluntary confinement.

Only citizens over 65 years of age have a strict obligation to remain in their homes, being the most vulnerable group.
