The international singer Tricia Evy he goes up on stage Corner of Jazz of the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium to present his latest album Usawa next Saturday, December 1 at 9:00 p.m. Along with his band, the natural artist of the French island of Guadalupe, is in charge of closing the jazz program organized by the Auditorium and Theater Foundation for this last quarter of the year and that had Kike Perdomo and the Big Band of the Canary Islands, and American bassist Kyle Eastwood, as prominent figures in the Autumn Jazz Festival.
After going through some of the most prestigious jazz festivals in the world, Tricia Evy arrives in Gran Canaria to make known their music, a mestizo music in which they mix their own songs with other traditional songs of their country, which will not leave anyone indifferent. On the stage of Sala Jerónimo Saavedra they accompany her forming the Tricia Evy Quartet, the pianist Joan Monné Bonillo, the drummer Roger Guitierrez Llort and Ignasi González Tejada, on the double bass. Sounds of Guadalupe and good jazz that have positioned Tricia Eviy as one of the most interesting emerging jazz singers internationally.
This young artist developed her passion for music by listening to greats like Patrick Saint Eloi (Kassav) or Georges Brassens but it was not until 2006, after her arrival in France, that she became passionate about jazz by getting acquainted with the music of stars of jazz of all times such as Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, Stan Getz or Mel Tormé. The year 2010 was the one that marked his debut with his first album, Beginning. After the success obtained, in November 2013, his second work Meet Me came to light, opening the way to the latter, Usawa, which is now in the capital of Gran Canaria.
