Traffic accidents leave 27 dead during the festive bridge in Colombia

The Colombian authorities informed that in the festive bridge in which the independence of Cartagena is celebrated and that ends today 27 people have died in traffic accidents.

These facts, said the director of the Traffic and Transport Police (Ditra), General William Salamanca, "have left 479 injured."

The main reasons for these events, said the official, have been "speeding", followed by driving under the influence of alcoholic beverages.

According to the Police, the figures of deaths in traffic accidents during this period decreased compared to what happened in 2017 when 50 people lost their lives.
