The jewelry and accessories brand Tous will open 50 stores in 2019, year in which it expects to consolidate its presence in countries such as Russia, Poland or Colombia, after 2018 marked by the international impulse in which it achieved a record profit of 27, 3 million euros.
Tous, which celebrates its centennial next year, has made a major effort in recent years to boost its international presence, to the point that the firm currently operates in 54 countries through its own franchised stores, and two of Every three establishments are located abroad.
Spain, Mexico, Russia, Poland, Puerto Rico, Portugal and Saudi Arabia are now the main geographic markets of Tous, which, although it does not close the door to reach new countries, is committed to consolidate its activity in the regions where it is present. and that have a greater potential for growth, as is the case in Latin America and Eastern Europe.
"This will be a year of consolidating our brand in many countries, a year of settling well where we are not, a year of continuity," Tous president Alba Tous explains in an interview with Efe, which aims to continue growing in countries like Russia, Czech Republic, Poland, Mexico, Portugal or Colombia.
"We do not want to base the growth of the company only in which countries we enter or not (…) Now we do not need many new flags," says the CEO of the firm, Carlos Soler-Duffo, who recalls that the objective of the company is to increase profitability and that this is achieved "if you do it right where you are present".
In this strategy of international consolidation, Tous plans to open 50 new stores by 2019, which will be added to the nearly 700 that it currently has.
"We have had years of growth of one hundred stores, but now we have to settle very well what we have.The objective does not have to be the figures, but to digest what we have", insists Alba Tous.
