The Catalan president, Quim Torra, has responded this Sunday with a "yes is yes" to the Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez, after he has resorted to the "is not no" that he used against the investiture of Mariano Rajoy to ensure that there will be no independence in Catalonia.
Through Twitter, Torra has replied to Sánchez: "Yes, yes, yes to the right to self-determination, yes to the referendum on self-determination, yes to the Catalan Republic."
Torra has assured that the Government will always be "next to the majority of the people of Catalonia", since the only ones who want to break the independence, he added, "are those who do not want to listen to the voice of the Catalans".
In an act in Saragossa, Sanchez assured yesterday that the PSOE that elaborated the Constitution is going to defend "with nails and teeth" the self-government and the State of the autonomies, and reiterated its "is not no" to the independence of Catalonia.
In his opinion, the problem in Catalonia is called "coexistence, not independence", and to solve it there are two ways: "Continue confronting as the right wants, or dialogue within the Constitution and the Statute of Catalonia."
