The President of the Generalitat, Quim Torra, has defended this Friday the “honesty” of the JxCat spokesperson in Congress, Laura Borràs, to whom she has wanted to publicly express her support: “Always by your side, Laura”.
The Supreme Court has asked Congress for a request to continue the case against Borràs, which is investigating the allegedly irregular award to a friend of 18 contracts for the value of 259,863 euros, when he headed the Institution of Catalan Lletres (ILC), before of making the leap to politics.
Minutes after the news was known, Torra published on Twitter a message of support for Borràs, a person he trusted and who was his Minister of Culture until he had to leave the Government to lead the JxCat candidacy for Congress in 2019.
Borràs, like Torra, was integrated as an independent in the JxCat lists promoted by the ex-president Carles Puigdemont for the Catalan elections of December 21, 2017, held in full application of article 155 of the Constitution.
“I knew Laura Borràs, but when we presented ourselves as independent by JxCat we shared the office of deputies, readings and very difficult decisions. She was a great minister of Culture. She is a brave and honest woman. I am honored by her friendship. Always by your side, Laura “wrote the president.
