The president of the Generalitat, Quim Torra, has asked this Friday "to put civil disobedience and nonviolence at the center of political action when necessary."
Torra has headed the tenth anniversary of the sovereign consultation of Arenys de Munt (Barcelona) –act that has been accompanied by the Minister of Labor, Social Affairs and Families, Chakir el Homrani– and added that "unfair laws, morally not they can be obeyed, "which is why he has defended obeying popular sovereignty.
He has also indicated that the imprisoned independence leaders who promoted 1-O "knew the consequences and assumed them with prison and exile," the Government said in a statement.
"Let us have a very sensible attitude, that is, that we seek the truth of our independence process," he asked as a reaction to the Supreme Court ruling on the sovereignty process.
He has also invited attendees to the event to participate "massively" in the process of debate on a Catalan constitution led by Lluís Llach.
ARENYS, START OF A "DEMOCRATIC WAVE"
At the head of the tenth anniversary of the sovereign consultation of Arenys de Munt, he has considered verbatim that this was the beginning of a democratic wave and that fear was overcome: "Before the Falangist and Fascist coaches, the threats of the judiciary, Arenys had it very clear and people put the ballot inside the ballot box ".
He has also stressed that "there is no project defended by democratic and peaceful means, and with the support of a social majority that cannot be carried forward."
