The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) foresees for today, Wednesday, accused thermal descent in the northern half of the peninsula and rains in the extreme north and northeast quadrant of the peninsula and that could be locally strong in the Canary Islands.

In the extreme north and northeast quadrant of the peninsula, the sky will be cloudy or covered with precipitations that can be accompanied by storms in the Cantabrian area.

It is likely that the rains also affect areas near the central and Iberian systems and are not discarded in the northern Balearic Islands.

Cloudy sky or with cloudy intervals in the rest of the northern and eastern halves, and little cloudy in the southwest. In the Canary Islands it will be cloudy with precipitations that could be locally strong and stormy in the islands of greater relief.

The level of snow will go down in the Peninsula throughout the day, until approximately between 500/700 m. in the Bay of Biscay, and 400/700 in the Pyrenees and Iberian.

The diurnal temperatures will be in remarkable decrease in the peninsular north half, being able to be locally extraordinary in points of the North plateau and Aragon. In the Mediterranean area, without changes or with slight increases.

The wind from the north and northwest will prevail in the Peninsula and from the west in the Mediterranean area and in the Canary Islands. Probability of strong intervals in the Bay of Biscay and in the Ebro valley.

Snow level about 1,000 meters at the beginning down to 500/700 meters. Temperatures in descent, more pronounced in the maximum, being locally noticeable in the south. The minimum temperatures will be reached at the end of the day. Weak frosts in the south, more intense at high altitudes. West and northwest wind, more intense on the coast, where strong intervals are expected. Very strong wind gusts on the coast and high levels.

BASQUE COUNTRY: Cloudy or covered with generalized rainfall that locally will be strong and persistent on the coast, and occasionally accompanied by storm and hail. Snow level about 1,000 meters at the beginning, down to 500/700 meters. Temperatures in descent, more pronounced in the maximum and being locally noticeable in the south. The minimum temperatures will be reached at the end of the day. Weak frost at high levels. West and northwest wind, more intense on the coast where strong intervals are expected. Wind gusts very strong on the coast and high levels.

CASTILLA Y LEÓN: In the north and northeast of the cloud cover with precipitation, especially in the Cantabrian and Iberian. Snow elevation 800 meters in the north and 1,000 in the east, down to 500 or 600. In the rest, cloudy intervals increasing to cloudy or overcast.
