Today, rain, strong winds and noticeable drop in temperatures

Today, rain, strong winds and noticeable drop in temperatures

The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) foresees strong or very strong and persistent rainfall in areas of the northern, northeastern and southern peninsular thirds, strong or very strong winds, and a notable or extraordinary decrease in daytime temperatures.

Very abundant cloudiness in the Peninsula, with generalized rains and showers and occasional storms, which will move from west to east throughout the day.

Given the uncertainty caused by cyclone Leslie, there is a possibility that the rains are locally strong or persistent at any point of the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, although they are expected mainly in the north, northeast and south peninsular thirds.

In the Canaries there will also be rains and showers, without discarding that in the western islands they can be punctually more intense.

Temperatures will be in general decline in the Peninsula and this decline may be remarkable or extraordinary in the diurnal.

It is expected predominance of strong or very strong winds of southern component to the passage of the front in the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands; of the west and northwest in Galicia and Cantabrian, of west in the Strait and Alborán, and of the northeast in the Canary Islands.

Prediction by Autonomous Communities:

————————————-

GALICIA: Covered with rains and generalized showers, which can be locally strong in the east of Ourense and southeast of Lugo; from midday they will go from west to east and decreasing the cloudiness at cloudy intervals and little cloudy in the west. Minimum temperatures in light descent in the northwest half and more pronounced in the rest, reaching remarkable in the east of Ourense; maximum in descent that, except in the west coast, will be remarkable, reaching extraordinary in Lugo and points of Ourense. North and northwest wind with intervals of strong in the west coast and with strong gusts in the southeast, slowing down in the afternoon and rolling to the south end.

ASTURIAS: Covered with rains and generalized showers, which can be locally strong and persistent and be accompanied by storm, especially in the center and in Cordillera and Picos; At the end of the day, the rainfall will subside and the cloudiness will decrease. Temperatures in descent, more pronounced the maximum, which will be remarkable and even extraordinary in many points. On the coast, west and northwest wind decreasing to weak; inland, north and northwest rolling west.

CANTABRIA: Cloudy or covered with probable banks of fog and mist. Rainy and locally strong showers, without ruling out that they are persistent and that they are accompanied by a storm, more likely, intense and frequent during the morning. Temperatures in descent that will be between remarkable and extraordinary in the case of the maximums and minimums that are expected at the end of the day. Northwest and west winds with strong intervals on the coast.

BASQUE COUNTRY: Cloudy or covered with fog and fog banks. Showers and showers, occasionally with storms, which may be locally strong or persistent in the eastern half and will be less intense in Álava. Temperatures in descent that will be between remarkable and extraordinary in the case of the maximums and minimums that are expected at the end of the day. Winds from northwest and west with strong intervals in the coast and with very strong gusts in high areas of the eastern half during the morning.

CASTILLA Y LEÓN: Cloudy or covered with rain and showers, which locally can be strong, preferably in the northwest, by the end of the afternoon cloudiness and precipitation will decrease in the west. Occasional storms are not ruled out. Falling temperatures, notable in the maximum, the minimum will be at the end of the day. Winds between south and east, then turning west or north, with strong gusts, and very strong in the southwest quadrant.

NAVARRA: Cloudy or covered with fogs and fog banks. Rains and showers, locally strong or persistent in the northern half, and occasionally accompanied by thunderstorms. Temperatures in descent that will be between remarkable and extraordinary in the case of the maximums and minimums that are expected at the end of the day. Southeast winds turning north and northwest and decreasing in intensity at the end of the day. Very strong gusts in the northern half during the morning.

LA RIOJA: Cloudy intervals tending during the day to cloudy or covered with rain and showers that can go with a storm. Mists and morning fog banks are not ruled out. Minimum temperatures without changes and maximum decreases. Southeast winds with strong gusts, tending at the end of the afternoon to northwest and decreasing in intensity.

ARAGON: In the morning, cloudy or covered with precipitations in the Pyrenees, and sky with cloudy intervals in the rest. As of noon, the cloud cover will increase from west to east with generalized rainfall and occasional storms, which given the uncertainty of the situation, could be locally strong or very strong, especially in the north and east of the community. They could also have some persistence in the Pyrenees. Falling temperatures, the maximum locally in the Iberian. South wind and moderate southeast with intervals of strong.

CATALONIA: Cloudy or covered sky. Generalized precipitations and occasional storms are expected, which given the uncertainty of the situation, could be locally strong or very strong, especially starting in the afternoon and in the southern half. They could also have some persistence in the Pyrenees. Temperatures without changes or slight decrease. Southeast wind weak to moderate, with strong intervals in the western third.

EXTREMADURA: Cloudy with rain and showers, which locally can be strong and with storm, more likely in the southeast, tending in the afternoon to reduce cloudiness and precipitation. Falling temperatures, notable in the maximum, the minimum will be at the end of the day. Winds from the southwest to the west, with strong gusts, and very strong in the north and west.

MADRID: Cloudy skies or covered with rain and showers. It is not ruled out that locally they can be strong, tending to remit in the afternoon and to diminish the cloudiness, except in the Sierra, where it will continue cloudy and with possible weak rains. Minimum temperatures without changes in the south of the community and with decreases that may be significant in the Sierra area; maximum in remarkable descent. Southeast winds turning west with very strong gusts in the Sierra area during the first half of the day.

CASTILLA-LA MANCHA: Cloudy skies or covered with rain and showers, without ruling out that in high areas are locally strong and accompanied by a storm, tending to remit in the afternoon. Mists and mists are not ruled out, which in high areas can be persistent. Minimum temperatures without changes or slight decrease except in La Mancha Albacete where the descent can be remarkable; maximum in descent, generally remarkable. Southeast winds turning west without ruling out strong gusts in Parameras and the Serranía de Cuenca during the central hours of the day.

VALENCIAN COMMUNITY: Sky with cloudy intervals, tending from noon to cloudy or overcast. Rainfall is expected, in the morning in the northern third and from noon at any point, accompanied by occasional storms. Given the uncertainty of the situation, the rainfall could be locally strong or very strong, especially starting in the afternoon in the province of Castellón. Temperatures without changes, except local decreases in the interior of the northern half. Southeast wind weak to moderate, turning in the afternoon to western component.

MURCIA: Cloudy skies with showers that will extend from west to east from midday; they may occasionally be accompanied by storms and be locally strong, being less intense and likely on the coast. Mists and probable morning fog banks. Temperatures in descent, more pronounced in the minimum, which will take place late. Loose variable winds, tending to the southern component and increasing during the day, with occasional strong gusts on the coast in the afternoon, turning west at nightfall.

BALEARICS: Cloudy sky with some high clouds, increasing at night with cover with probability of showers that in Ibiza and Formentera could be locally strong and with storm. Morning mist. Nocturnal temperatures in ascent and diurnal without changes or in slight descent. Southeast wind with strong intervals since the afternoon.

ANDALUCIA: Cloudy or covered skies, with generalized showers that can be locally strong and will extend from west to east, occasionally accompanied by storms, being less intense and likely in the eastern end. At the end of the precipitations, gaps will open from west to east. Depending on the trajectory of tropical cyclone Leslie, there is a small chance that rainfall will be locally very strong and persistent. Temperatures in generalized descent, which will be notable in the highs of the interior, reaching the minimum at the last hours. Winds of south component to first hours, turning to western component to the cessation of the precipitations, and increasing to strong with very strong gusts in the Mediterranean littoral, the Straits and high zones.

CANARY ISLANDS: Cloudy intervals in general, with a predominance of cloud skies on the north and interior slopes of the islands. Probably locally moderate weak precipitation in the north and interior of the islands of greater relief where it is not ruled out that they may become locally persistent. In Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, probable general weak precipitation. In the other zones, low probability of some weak and scattered rain. Minimum temperatures in slight rise and maximum in slight decrease, variations that will be more pronounced in medium and high areas of the islands of greater relief. Winds of moderate north component turning northeast at midday with intervals of greater intensity during the afternoon in midlands facing north. Predominance of the breezes in the south.
