It is a scientific contradiction but it seems that time travels at two speeds. In a reality, governments alternate, budget items are added and subtracted, the leaves of the months on the calendar fall while bureaucratic procedures are activated, six years go by without executing a court order and four decades of democracy do not spread to remove the thousands of murdered from their unworthy burials. In the other timeline, the orphan sons and daughters are already octogenarians and nonagenarians who die every day, waiting for legitimate reparation. On the verge of the end of their lives, within a day of their time there is only one minute of the time of politics. “The youngest of the children of the relatives in my group is 87 years old and the oldest is turning 99,” recalls Silvia Navarro, from the Association of Relatives Pro Exhumation of the Republicans of the Valley of the Fallen.
