The Civil Guard of the Main Post of Corralejo (Fuerteventura) stopped on November 20 to three men who formed an itinerant band dedicated to the theft of perfumeries after being caught at the dock of the town with a suitcase containing 67 boxes of perfumes of alleged illegal origin.
As reported by the Benemérita a press release, about 7:00 pm, and in citizen security tasks for the disembarkation of passengers from the shipping companies that operate on the dock, the agents stopped a suspicious rental vehicle with three people inside.
In this way, they verified that they carried as a luggage a single suitcase with 67 bottles of perfume, which had signs indicating a possible illegal origin, such as broken or torn safety systems or with wrappings or boxes in poor condition.
On the other hand, given the background related to similar crimes in other parts of Spain that presented the three male occupants and that did not provide any clear explanation on these perfumes and the fact of carrying a sum of 2,185 euros in cash, the Civil Guards requested to other units of the island of Lanzarote, where the ship came from.
Thus, they obtained information about several thefts of perfumes in different businesses of the aforementioned island committed between days 11 and 20 of the current month.
During the investigation of the police proceedings the Civil Guard also found that these people had tried to send a package from a Costa Teguise office on the morning of the 20th that also contained perfumes and sneakers, which was intervened in the Port of Las Palmas. Gran Canaria and the researchers are conducting the necessary research to determine the origin of the merchandise.
For all this, the Civil Guard arrested the three men in question, intervening in turn the perfumes and money referred to, being all available to the corresponding Court, acting guard, of the town of Puerto del Rosario.
