Three deaths and 180 new infections in the Canary Islands

The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands registered this Thursday three new deaths from covid-19, bringing the total number of victims to 209 fatalities of the virus in the Islands. Also, 180 new infections have occurred in the last 24 hours, which implies an increase in the number of daily infections compared to yesterday’s data that established 162 new cases.

In the islands 143 registrations have been registered in the last 24 hours (4,570 in total), so the data on active cases in the Archipelago increases to 6,562, so there are 34 more than yesterday.

In Gran Canaria has produced most of the new infections, a total of 98 (6,458). It is followed by Tenerife, with 70 new cases (3,169) and Lanzarote with 7 (983). In Fuerteventura there are 5 new patients (489). In the rest of the islands there have been no new infections: La Palma (173), La Gomera (24) and El Hierro (45). Since the beginning of the pandemic, the Canary Islands have added 11,341 infections.

Of those affected, 56 are admitted to the ICU, two more than the day before, 200 are admitted to the plant, and 6,306 are in their homes.
