Those affected by the La Palma volcano will have a certificate of aerial photographs

The Ministry of Ecological Transition, Fight against Climate Change and Territorial Planning of the Government of the Canary Islands has enabled a aerial photography certification service to people affected by volcanic eruption of La Palma through the Public company Cartográfica de Canarias (Grafcan), which will serve to identify the patrimony of the citizenship on the ground, as it was before the passage of the lava.

The person in charge of the regional department, Jose Antonio Valbuena, detailed that You can obtain this certificate of aerial photography, free of charge, in the email [email protected], on the telephones 922 237 860 and 928 336 860 or in person at the Grafcan offices in Tenerife (Calle Panamá, 34, Polígono Costa Sur in Santa Cruz de Tenerife) and Gran Canaria (Avenida Juan XXIII, 7, Campo España Building in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria).

This initiative is in addition to the update of the orthophoto service that has recently been carried out on La Palma on the platform of the Canary Islands Territorial Information System (SITCAN). In this sense, the regional councilor explained that the territorial orthophoto of La Palma has been renewed with images obtained from a digital GSD 20 cm / pixel flight, executed between February 14 and August 29, 2021 .

These new orthophotos are now available, also free of charge, at the Canary Islands Spatial Data Infrastructure viewer (IDECanarias) at the address https://visor.grafcan.es/. With this objective in mind, the public company has also enabled in the IDECanarias viewer a specific section on the eruption of La Palma with specific layers referring to emission points, toponymy of the year 2021, educational centers, cadastre, forest maps, protected species, planning, palm groves, etc.
