Inditex will inaugurate its new smart building at its Arteixo headquarters on March 17. It will be a week after the company chaired by Pablo Isla presents its results for the year. This enclave will house the new studies of Zara.com, as well as the central design department of Zara Man, as explained by the textile group in a statement. The company that owns brands such as Zara, Massimo Dutti, Bershka and Stradivarius, among others, has invested a total of 130 million euros in this building, built in record time.

The new building responds to the company's digital strategy, which already announced a few months ago that it would invest 2,700 million to shore up your online business and rebuild your physical stores. The president of Inditex, Pablo Isla, highlighted that this building "represents the best visual example of the company's strategy, due to the investment it entails in technology with an integrated approach between stores and online, and in the incorporation of the most advanced systems of sustainability ».

According to the textile group, the building consists 67,000 square meters and 28 meters high, and stands out for the incorporation of 720 highly energy-efficient glass modules that cover the entire exterior part, interspersed with aluminum structural pillars, which guarantee natural lighting in the interior space. Furthermore, "it is surrounded by a natural, landscaped ecosystem of plants and trees and incorporates the latest advances in sustainability and technology," he explains.

All spaces are open and a central agora has been established that allows meetings between different teams. In addition, the building is equipped with the latest advances in connectivity through Wifi 6 and 5G, which facilitate the use of innovative technological tools such as double LED screens that allow any user of the facilities to project on them through Wifi without need for another type of connection.

The ground floor and the first floor will be occupied by the central design department of Zara Man, and will allow the integration of an extensive design area and showrooms, while the second and third will house Zara.com. In addition, these plants also house the teams dedicated to processes for the integrated management of the stock between stores and online, to all services for customer service, and to R&D operations.

On the fourth floor, measuring 9,000 square meters, are located the sets, all of them with natural light, in which photographers, models, stylists and makeup artists bring to life the clothes and styles that are available on zara.com.

Inditex has specified that these new facilities are connected to the rest of the headquarters through a glazed walkway located on the third floor and its five floors are connected to each other by three wide staircases.

The new building also stands out for its commitment to sustainability. Specifically, the company indicates that it has been designed based on bioclimatic concepts, has been built with environmentally friendly materials and has high-efficiency facilities. Thus it meets the requirements of the US Green Building Council.

The deck features 554 photovoltaic panels which, together with the 2,826 panels installed in the outdoor car park, serve to self-supply half of the building's electricity consumption, all of which comes from entirely renewable sources.
