This is how the English press tells the victory of Atlético against Liverpool

English media talk about needing a magical night in Anfield

The English press titled under an ironic "Ah, that's how it feels to lose" the defeat of Liverpool on Tuesday at the hands of Atlético de Madrid in the first leg of the round of 16 of the Champions League.

It was the Daily Mirror that decided to use that headline to occupy much of its cover, adding a photo of Jürgen Klopp with a serious gesture.

"Unbeatable in the Premier League, but Klopp will need another magical night at Anfield after the loss to Atlético de Madrid," the newspaper added.

Somewhat early Saul served for Atlético to come to England with an advantage, inflicting Liverpool's first defeat in many months.

The rest of the media are much more restrained. The Times, in its sports section, opens with a photo of Mohamed Salah lamenting a ruling and the headline: "Liverpool finally shows that it is human."

For its part, The Guardian highlights Liverpool's "frustration" for being unable to beat Atlético's defensive strength and title "Spanish lesson."

The return of the round of 16 between Liverpool and Atlético de Madrid will be held on March 11 at the Anfield stadium. EFE
