the historical employment data for the first quarter released this Wednesday by the Government with a record of indefinite contracts and affiliation to social security, have been celebrated by the Second Vice President and Minister of Labor, Yolanda Díaz. During an informative breakfast, Díaz recalled that 100 days have just passed since the approval of the labor reform and its analysis is forceful: "Things are changing in our country today."

"In record time we have shown that this labor reform works," said Díaz before a huge audience that included the Minister of the Presidency, Félix Bolaños; that of Consumer Affairs, Alberto Garzón, and that of Social Security, José Luis Escrivá, in addition to the leaders of the two large unions, the spokespersons for Más Madrid in the Assembly and the City Council, Mónica García and Rita Maestre, respectively, and numerous representatives business and social. “Today is an important day for Spain in which we can say that things can change”, he insisted.
During her speech, the vice president considered that "after the passage of 100 days" since the approval of the labor reform, her conclusion is that the regulations have brought about a "great transformation". “We are satisfied with the positive impact that the labor reform is having”, she assured.
“In the first 100 days, Spain must be told that there is a good policy, the one that serves to change people's lives from the small, that does not make noise, does not frighten with insults and wrongdoing. That it sews, that it adds and that makes people happy ”, he has riveted.
Reduction of the youth unemployment rate
Although he has recognized that “Spain has a serious structural unemployment problem”, the number of jobs created in the first quarter, quantified at 3,022,000 workers, has not occurred in the last 14 years. "As a country we have reduced the youth unemployment rate by 10 points", he celebrated, in addition to noting that "after the pandemic, unemployment has been reduced by 900,000 people in these months".
“Our country, with the social agents at the head, has practiced different public policies. We have achieved it as a country. The data is spectacular, one out of every two contracts is indefinite. This is changing the paradigm of the labor market”, she pointed out.
