The sky will be slightly cloudy or clear with intervals of high clouds that will tend to disappear during the afternoon. Cloudy intervals at the last hours in low areas of the north of the islands of greater relief and in Lanzarote, according to the prediction of the Meteorology Statal Agency (Aemet) for this Wednesday, October 20, in the Canary Islands.

The haze it will be light and it will affect, mainly, the southern and western slopes of the islands of greater relief, but it will be withdrawn.

Temperatures will experience a slight decrease, more pronounced in interior areas. The 30 degrees in the middle of the interior of Gran Canaria, and in a more localized way in those of the western islands.

The wind will blow from the northeast, with strong intervals on the southeast and northwest slopes, and there will be breezes on the southwest coasts of the mountainous islands.

Province of Las Palmas

The weather forecast in the province of Las Palmas indicates that slightly cloudy skies will predominate in Gran Canaria with intervals of high clouds, which will tend to disappear in the afternoon and with the presence of slight haze, especially on the southern slope during the first half of the day. On the north coast there will be cloudy intervals in the early hours and, especially, in the late hours.

In the case of the islands of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, slightly cloudy skies will predominate with intervals of high clouds that will tend to disappear in the afternoon, while on the northern and eastern coasts in the early and late hours there will be cloudy intervals. A slight haze is also expected in the early hours in the southern half of the island, according to Aemet.

As for temperatures, they will experience few changes or a slight decrease, especially in the maximum in interior areas, and may reach 30 degrees in interior areas of the south and west. In Las Palmas de Gran Canaria the thermometer will show a minimum of 22 degrees and a maximum of 26 degrees.

Regarding the wind, it will blow from the northeast with strong intervals on the southeast and northwest coasts, mainly in the afternoon. On the northeast and southwest coasts there will be breezes and variable light winds on summits.

Province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife

With regard to the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, a slightly cloudy sky will predominate, with intervals of high clouds during the first half of the day and the presence of slight haze, especially on the southern slope, which will tend to subside. There will also be cloudy intervals in the lower parts of the northeast in the late hours.

As reported by Aemet, temperatures will not undergo changes or a slight decrease. It is not ruled out that 30 degrees are reached locally, especially in the midlands and east, south and southwest slopes. The thermometers will range from a maximum of 27 degrees to a minimum of 20 degrees.

The wind will blow from the northeast, with strong intervals on the southeast coast and northwest slope, mainly in the afternoon. There will be breezes on the west and north coasts. In the central peaks, a light variable wind is expected tending to a moderate north in the afternoon.
