Maritime Rescue personnel have transferred 58 immigrants of sub-Saharan origin to the port of Motril (Granada) tonight, six of them women, who were traveling in a patera that has been rescued in the Alboran Sea.
The immigrants, among which there could be several minors, have arrived at the Granada dock after one o'clock in the morning on Tuesday aboard the Guardamar Caliope, after being rescued by a French patrol boat that was in the area.
Upon arrival they have been treated by the Red Cross, which has provided them with first health and food care.
According to Efe sources from the humanitarian organization, most immigrants were in good health, although several presented physical problems caused by cold or dizziness, possibly as a result of travel, so they had to be treated at the Red Cross infirmary in the port.
Subsequently, they have been made available to the National Police in the temporary shelter of the same port, where they will remain for the next few hours.
