The Civil Guard, in collaboration with the General Directorate of Public Health of the Ministry of Health of Valencia, has dismantled a criminal organization that was engaged in the distribution, from the provinces of Valencia and Madrid, of meat products in unhealthy conditions and immobilized more than a thousand tons of these meats.
As reported by the Civil Guard, this operation has culminated in the arrest of six people and the investigation of another eight, all between 25 and 60 years, which are charged with crimes against public health, criminal organization and money laundering .
The agents have practiced three registries and more than thirty inspections in companies of the Valencian localities of Alzira and Algemesi, as well as in the Madrid of Alcobendas, in which more than a thousand tons of meat products in poor condition have been immobilized by a value of around five million euros.
Last June they learned, through the Conselleria, of the location of a clandestine company dedicated to the distribution of unhealthy meat producers, and the veterinary inspectors of the Health Department of La Ribera took note of the breaches.
Once the facts were known, agents of the Carlet judicial police team and members of the Nature Protection Service (Seprona) of the Civil Guard of Valencia started the Jamvina operation in coordination with Health.
The members of the organization, who belonged to several companies that were part of the network, were engaged in introducing into the market food in poor condition and in various formats, and for this they used trademarks of other companies with the aim of giving out these products.
The presumed authors avoided the disbursement at the time of destroying the expired products or in bad conditions, and in addition, they obtained new income with the manipulation of the dates of preferential consumption of the whole pieces and they introduced them again in the market for a lower price .
The proceedings have been made available to the Court of First Instance number 3 of Alzira.
