A 13-year-old girl from Wisconsin, missing since it was discovered that her parents were shot dead at her home three months ago, was found this Thursday malnourished and dirty but alive, after apparently fleeing her captor.
As reported by the Police, a man, who has not been identified, is in the custody of the authorities in relation to the case of James Closs, 56, and his wife Denise, 46, whose corpses were found on October 15 while his daughter, JaymeI was missing.
The disappearance of the girl led to massive searches, with more than 1,500 volunteers scouring forests and fields in the suburbs of Minneapolis. A reward of $ 25,000 was even offered to anyone who gave information about his whereabouts.
Three months after the event, Jayme was found in the city of Gordon, about an hour's drive from the Closs house, after the girl, described as thin, dirty, with matted hair and shoes that did not fit, will knock on the door of a house, as reported by the Minneapolis Star Tribune. "It's Jayme Closs! Call 911!" Said a neighbor who recognized the girl, the newspaper added.
The neighbors of this small community called the police, who have reported that they have arrested a suspect but without giving further explanations.
"We promised to take Jayme home and tonight we will fulfill that promise", said Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald in a statement,
Jayme was taken to a hospital for treatment and the sheriff asked the media and the public to respect the privacy of the family, reports Rich McKay and Clarence Fernández
