The prosecutor asks for a penalty four years and ten months in jail for a man accused of steal a sandwich from the counter of a bakery in Barcelona, where she used a cutting metallic object similar to a broken drink can before the saleswomen.
In its brief of provisional conclusions, the public prosecutor attributes to the defendant, who will be judged tomorrow in Barcelona, a crime of robbery with violence and intimidation and use of weapons in an establishment open to the public.
The events occurred around 7:30 am on March 26, when the man entered a bakery in Barcelona and wielded a metallic object similar to a broken drink can.
A clerk tried to prevent the man from taking a sandwich from the counter, but had to withdraw when the defendant made a gesture to cut him off with the object he was carrying.
The defendant was able to leave the premises with the sandwich in his possession, although it was later located in the vicinity of the premises by the Mossos d'Esquadra.
