“The company has already taken 2,640 euros from each worker’s salary.” It is the CCOO complaint, with an open conflict in the multinational shipping company MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company on account of teleworking. The company implemented remote work due to the pandemic and has withdrawn the restaurant tickets that paid for the food of its employees in Barcelona, which amount to “220 euros per month”. Checks were introduced years ago as compensation for a change in the schedule: on Fridays, which were worked until lunchtime, they moved to a split-day schedule (except in summer). CCOO rejects the legality of the measure, since it defends that the tickets are part of the salary. In such a case, the company cannot simply terminate them unilaterally.
