electricity price
down for the second day in a row. This Wednesday, the average cost of energy in the regulated tariff will be XXXX-. It will give a break again, because between XXX and XXX will be the time when it will be cheaper.

Specifically, the 'pool' will register this Wednesday an average price of 213.16 euros/MWh, almost 10 euros less than the 222.73 euros/MWh on Tuesday, according to provisional data published by the Iberian Energy Market Operator (OMIE).

Compared to a year ago, the pool price for this Wednesday will be 178.7% more expensive than the one registered on January 19, 2021, of only 76.74 euros/MWh.

The prices of the 'pool' have a direct impact on the regulated rate -the so-called PVPC-, to which almost 11 million consumers in the country are covered, and serve as a reference for the other 17 million who have contracted their supply in the free market .
