The average price of electricity in the wholesale market will rise this Sunday by 5.74% compared to this Saturday, once again exceeding the level of €200 per megawatt hour (MWh).

Specifically, the 'pool' will register this Sunday an average price of 201.34 euros/MWh, about 11 euros more than the 190.41 euros/MWh this Saturday, according to provisional data published by the Iberian Energy Market Operator (OMIE) collected by Europa Press.

By time slots, the maximum price of electricity for this January 23 will be between 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., with 249 euros/MWh, while the minimum, of 179.04 euros/MWh, will be registered between 04:00 hours and 05.00 hours.

Why does the light go up?
